Coordination for the curation of JNOF 2026’s four innovation sectors — Energy & Science, Health & Pharma, Food & Agriculture, and Socio-Humanities — has officially gotten underway, opened in a coordination meeting held online via Zoom and led by GKR Mangkubumi, Chair of KADIN Yogyakarta Special Region.
The session brought together sector coordinators, curation team members, and representatives from KADIN DIY and partner institutions to align on how research submissions across all four sectors will be reviewed and shortlisted ahead of JNOF 2026 on 21-22 October at GIK UGM.
Opening the meeting, GKR Mangkubumi voiced her strong support for the curation process, emphasising that research and innovation should not stop at the report or prototype stage. She underlined the importance of pushing promising research through to real, commercializable products — ones industry can adopt, and communities can genuinely benefit from, rather than results that end up filed away as documents alone.
That message echoes JNOF 2026’s broader mission: connecting Yogyakarta’s wealth of research ideas with industry, investors, and government through validation, financing, market access, and partnership, so that innovation translates into economic value and tangible benefit for the community — in line with the festival’s theme, “Innovation to Growth.”
The curation process is now moving forward across all four sectors, with results feeding directly into JNOF 2026’s exhibition and business matchmaking sessions this October.
