“Innovation to Growth” · Campus as a Mine of Ideas: From Exposition to Commitment
Jogja Innovation Festival (JNOF) 2026 is an umbrella event designed to turn Yogyakarta’s wealth of ideas and innovation into economic growth. JNOF integrates an exposition, seminars and a knowledge stage, strategic dialogue, business meetings, and even LOI/MoU and ceremonial signings into a single downstream pathway - connecting Global Innovation Future (GIFT), Meet the Investor (MTI), ICONIC & the UGM DTSL Innovation Exhibition, and Innovative SMEs in one ecosystem. All of it is tied together by curation, industry-practitioner validation, business meetings, and commitment-building, so that it doesn’t run as a set of disconnected events.
JNOF 2026 is held together with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and Universitas Gadjah Mada, bringing together innovators, businesses, investors, and government - so that research and technology results don’t stop at being ideas, but move toward LOI/MoU, pilot projects, investment, production partnerships, and market access.

National and regional collaboration to turn innovation into economic value

Indonesia needs a meeting space that can connect innovators, businesses, investors, and government in a focused way. Amid the development of technology and increasingly dynamic industry needs, innovation cannot simply stop at being an idea or a research result. Innovation needs to be brought together with the real needs of businesses, financing support, market access, and partners capable of driving the development process through to generating economic value.
Jogja Innovation Festival 2026 exists as a collaborative space that brings these various forces together. Through Global Innovation Future (GIFT), Meet the Investor, ICONIC & the UGM DTSL Innovation Exhibition, and Innovative SMEs, JNOF 2026 opens up opportunities for research results, technology, startups, and innovative products to meet with industry, investors, buyers, government, and strategic partners. The series of exhibitions, seminars, dialogues, and business matching is designed so that every idea has the chance to grow into more concrete cooperation.
KADIN encourages large and medium-sized industry to take on the role of a locomotive in this process, by opening up needs, standards, markets, mentoring, and offtake opportunities for innovators and manufacturing SMEs. At the same time, collaboration with universities, government, investors, and financing institutions is important to strengthen research, technology development, regulation, and access to the resources needed so that innovation can be adopted and developed on a wider scale.
We hope that Jogja Innovation Festival 2026 will not only be a space for exchanging ideas, but will give rise to meetings that produce real commitments and follow-through. Through business matching and B2B meetings, collaboration opportunities are expected to grow into LOI/MoU, pilot projects, investment, production partnerships, offtake, import substitution, and market access. In this way, national and regional collaboration can become a shared force to turn innovation into economic value, strengthen industrial competitiveness, and provide real benefits for the community and Indonesia’s economic growth.

Yogyakarta has strong capital as a center of innovation, with universities serving as a mine of ideas supported by researchers, talent, startups, SMEs, and a business and technology ecosystem. However, our challenge is how to bring these various ideas from the research and prototype stage toward real-world use, through validation, financing, market access, and partnerships with industry.
Jogja Innovation Festival 2026 exists as a collaborative space to bridge this potential. Through Global Innovation Future (GIFT), Meet the Investor, ICONIC & the UGM DTSL Innovation Exhibition, and Innovative SMEs, JNOF brings innovators together with industry, investors, buyers, government, and strategic partners. This series is expected to open up opportunities for cooperation, investment, product development, and market access.
KADIN sees the business world as having an important role as a bridge between innovation and market needs. Because of this, through seminars, business matching, and B2B meetings, JNOF 2026 is directed so that the meetings that take place don’t stop at an exchange of ideas, but can grow into real commitments in the form of LOI/MoU, pilot projects, investment, offtake, and business partnerships.
We invite all stakeholders at both the national and regional levels to work together to make JNOF 2026 a momentum for strengthening Yogyakarta’s innovation ecosystem. Let us bring the spirit of “Innovation to Growth” to life by connecting ideas, collaboration, and industry needs, so that innovation can deliver economic value and real benefits for the community and support Indonesia’s growth.

Universities are a mine of ideas that play an important role in addressing development challenges and the needs of society. Through research, innovation, and talent development, universities continue to produce ideas and technology with the potential to deliver broader benefits. However, this potential needs to be managed through a focused process, starting from identification, extraction, curation, protection, and validation, through to accountable downstreaming.
Jogja Innovation Festival 2026 becomes a space to bring researchers together with the real needs of industry and society. Through a series of exhibitions, seminars, dialogues, business meetings, and various integrated innovation programs, JNOF is expected to open up space for interaction between universities, businesses, investors, government, and the community. These meetings matter so that research and innovation results don’t stop at the discovery stage, but can grow into solutions ready to be tested, developed, produced, and adopted.
In this process, institutional aspects, intellectual property management, regulation, cooperation schemes, and downstreaming models are inseparable parts of the whole. Innovation needs an ecosystem that can provide support from many sides, while also ensuring that the process of using and capitalizing on research results is carried out fairly and responsibly. Collaboration between academics, industry, government, investors, and various stakeholders is key to shortening the distance between knowledge and implementation.
We hope that Jogja Innovation Festival 2026 can become a momentum for strengthening a culture of collaboration and expanding the use of knowledge and innovation for development. By bringing together knowledge, entrepreneurship, and execution in a single series, we can work together to build a stronger path from idea to innovation, from innovation to application, and from application to real benefit for society and economic growth.

Carrying the theme “Innovation to Growth” and the slogan “Campus as a Mine of Ideas: From Exposition to Commitment,” Jogja Innovation Festival (JNOF) 2026 is designed as a series that brings innovation potential together with the real needs of business, industry, government, investors, and the community. JNOF 2026 integrates Global Innovation Future (GIFT), Meet the Investor, ICONIC & the UGM DTSL Innovation Exhibition, and Innovative SMEs into one interconnected ecosystem. This series of activities is structured to carry innovation through a more focused pathway. The exhibition serves as the entry point for introducing research results, prototypes, products, and technology; seminars and dialogues provide context on technology development, industry needs, policy, financing, and market access; while business meetings bring together parties with needs and the potential for cooperation. In this way, every meeting is expected not to stop at an exchange of ideas, but to grow into more concrete collaboration opportunities.
JNOF 2026 also places LOI/MoU, pilot projects, investment, offtake, and market access as part of its follow-through goals. Through a pre-event curation process, business meetings, B2B sector tables, and a Follow-up Desk, we are working to build a pipeline that allows innovation to move from the discovery and exhibition stage toward validation, partnership, implementation, and growth. The success of this event is therefore measured not only by the number of participants, but also by the quality of the meetings, the commitments formed, and the follow-through that can be carried out after the event.
As the organizing committee, we hope JNOF 2026 can become a collaborative space that brings together the various forces within Yogyakarta’s and Indonesia’s innovation ecosystem. We invite everyone to join together in making this event a momentum for building networks, opening opportunities, and producing commitments that can deliver real impact. From exposition to commitment, from commitment to implementation, and from innovation to growth — this is the spirit we want to bring through the Jogja Innovation Festival 2026.
